Today, language play is widespread in all areas of society. This is both due to the verbal creative ability of humans and their desire to rid themselves of the norms. Language play is a characteristic feature of the modern mass media, the function of which is not limited to the objective transfer of information, that seeks to interpret and evaluate the reported events. In this regard, mass media prefer non-standard and expressive language usage. In modern Russian media, parody of precedent texts is often observed, as it is based on the background knowledge of the recipient. This article examines the parody of precedent texts in Russian mass media in connection with its new communicative strategy. Within the new communicative strategy of modern Russian mass media, this article considers the creative usage of language, dialoguicity with readers and argumentation strategy.
