The study of Russian political discourse is gaining popularity as the fall of the USSR has led to the formation of a new political system balancing between the predecessor’s language of nominations and the language of new Russia undergoes active processes of democratization. The research of political discourse is conducted in a close connection with various extra linguistic factors shared with many applied areas of human knowledge and carefully considered by cognitive linguistics. Due to a certain level of liberalization of the society the changes in political life could not help but find realization in language that is scrutinized through different prisms that reflect contemporary individual’s consciousness studied by hermeneutic philology, which in its turn helps to depict the processes of understanding and interpretation of reality. Today these processes of linguistic understanding of reality are seen as the search for ideal ways of perception as the means of solving vital state/country issues. In this view, the analysis of political discourse through reflection as a conscious discourse interpretation plays a significant role in the study of a political discourse that involves such philosophical categories as truth and lie.
