This paper aims to analyze the characters' action coping with absurd situation in Zoo Story and The Sun Also Rises. In Zoo Story Peter is a typical of solitude created due to lack of communication in the modern society. Jerry who is desperate to have a meaningful conversation tries to change Peter to communicate with others as he chooses death. In The Sun Also Rises Jake is motivated by his own consciousness of what is wrong and right even though he experienced absurd situation in World War Ⅰ. He helps Brett overcome difficult reality with of Postwar with Spirit of Sacrifice.
The main characters in both works show their true minds to change the other with humanism.
