Performance of prosthodontic treatment on edentulous area shaving extruded teeth or severely tilted adjacent teeth is diffi cult. In such cases, for ideal prosthodontic treatment, intrusion of extruded teeth or up-righting the axis of tilted adjacent teeth should be performed fi rst; for that purpose, limited orthodontic treatment can be considered. Placement of orthodontic mini-screws is relatively easily and can be effective for achievement of stable anchorage. Along with a review of the literature, the authors report satisfactory clinical results in many cases where implants were placed after intrusion of extruded teeth or up-righting severely tilted teeth using orthodontic mini-screws.
