This study is intended to create new jobs through the revitalization of the medical tourismindustry. Asian countries including Korea are paying attention to medical tourism as a newvalue-added industry of the 21st century. Korea occupies a superior place in the medicalsphere compared to other countries. Even though Korea provides a higher level of medicalcare among the OECD nations, Korea does not have that many foreign patients compared toother Asian countries. Korea’s medical tourism has been recently rated among the best in theworld. Thus, the Korean government must pay more attention to medical tourism in order tocreate new jobs in the medical tourism service industry. America, Canada, India, Singapore,These country have created new jobs in the medical tourism service industry and Korea cando the same. However, Korea has to remove medical barriers. It is high time that Koreaconsiders attracting investments in hospitals to take advantage of the opportunities indeveloping further the medical tourism industry.
