Living Modified Organism(LMO)/ Genetically Modified Organisms(GMO) products based on biotechnologywere grown 1,170 million hectares - 100 times more than in 1996 - in 28 countries in 2013. However, theLMO/GMO usage has various arguments about safety and usability. Therefore, the establishment of nationalpolicies regarding the usage of agriculture biotechnology for food products are one of the most significantissues. The purpose of this study is to investigate the international regulations and domestic policies of the threecountries(Korea, U.S, and EU) regarding LMO/GMO. Moreover, we analyze and compare three countriespolicies and finally give preliminary suggestions for upgrading Korea policy of LMO/GMO.
