Agriculture is the main industry in the country. Since the launch of the World Trade Organization in 1995,the realization of trade liberalization in the agricultural sector is expanding. However, agriculture is the naturalgeographic environment changes with each country is different, depending on the items and other goodsgenerated in the production process, unlike many of the risk factors are implicated and has a feature. Since2001, Korea‘s crop insurance was started for apple and pear. After that time, Korea government has scheduleto extend over 30 crops after 2011.
This study examine the characteristics and problems of crops insurance and present the tasks in order tostabilize and expand the crop insurance as a farming stabilization policy system in korea. In conclusion, Korea'scrops insurance policy has realized diverse crop disaster insurance items, and sets the standards for an objectiveevaluation, so it is necessary to develop agricultural insurance programs in conjunction with farm managementstability.
