The purpose of this study was to examine the 3-factor, 36-item Leisure Attitude Scale(LAS) developed by Ragheb and Beard at 1982. This study is largely divided into two aspects. Study 1 is to examine construct validity of LAS. and Study 2 is to confirm structural identity of LAS factor structure reconstructed from study 1 according to gender and age in Korean adult who participate in leisure activities. Firstly, The 441 sample was selected by purposeful sampling method. Item analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory / confirmatory factor analysis was performed. The results of the CFA test, 3-factor LAS were not statically fit. Therefore, revisions to the instrument were required. Exploratory factor analysis(EFA) was used to find an alternative structure model. 4-factor, 18-item were observed(cognitive, behavioral, affective and aspiration). Aspiration factor that was composed by contents related to hope or rely on future action was separated from the behavioral factor. Also 4-factor LAS was considered to be a stronger measure of leisure attitude than 3-factor KAS in Korean adults.
