This study grasps problems of mixed-use of school facilities for lifelong education and matters that shall be solved at a point in time a school is recognized as an open place that can be shared by local residents besides students through the mixed-use of educational facilities. The details are as follows. First, with regard to the mixed-use of school facilities, major three aspects are considered. These can be classified into an education aspect, residents' lifelong education aspect, and economic aspect. However, at present, with regard to the mixed-use of school facilities, students' education aspect or economic aspect is considered, but utilization is weak in the residents' lifelong education aspect. In order to provide local residents with lifelong educational facilities, the special classrooms of school shall be utilized as well as physical training facilities which are being utilized as mixed-use project at present. Second, there is a phenomenon where local residents' line of flow overlaps with students' one as the mixed-use of facilities is realized. This has an effect on inconvenience to students and local residents and school's academic atmosphere. Therefore, entrances shall be more actively separated and special classrooms shall be rearranged. Third, the mixed-use of school facilities produces good results of providing local residents and students with many convenient facilities and various educational facilities. However, as facilities are expanded, they get to have difficulty inmanaging ․ operating the school facilities, and need to solve administrative matters. Fourth, the fundamental and ultimate goal of mixed-use of educational facilities is to expect the activation oflocal community around school. Therefore, the chemical mixed-use enabling an education closely adhering to the community is required rather than pushing forward with simple physical mixed-use.
