The purpose of this study is to survey the critical success factors for recession resistance and management innovation in small Korean firms. To achieve such objectives, previous studies on the analysis of entrepreneurial proclivity and management innovation of small business' entrepreneurs were analysed and put together. A research model was developed, and on the basis of the model some research hypotheses for empirical analysis were set up. The characteristics of entrepreneurial proclivity were analyzed by means of three variables such as pro-activeness, risk-taking and innovativeness. This study finds two important results, which are summarized as follows. First, entrepreneurial proclivity is an important factor which gives rise to an accomplishment of foundation through the core parameters. Second, by correlation analysis, we find that entrepreneurial proclivity and organization structure are not antecedents of management immersion and market orientation, but actual concepts which have an effect upon venturing-business performance through management immersion and market orientation.
