The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the Cooperative Movement EducationActivity(CMEA) by applying it to five-year-old children. To verify the effects of the CMEA, forty children(twenty in the experimental group, twenty inthe comparative group) from “M kindergarten” located in “S city” participated in sixteen programsfrom June 5, 2013 to September 25, 2013. The CMEA for young children’s improvement ofpro-social behavior and role acceptance ability based on kindergarten daily life topics of the NuriCurriculum for five-year-old children was performed on the experimental group and the individualmovement activities on the comparative group. The improvement of pro-social behavior wasassessed according to Young Children’s Pro-social Behavior Rating Scale of Kim,Yeong-Ok(2003). The modified testing tool of Lee, Yeong-Ha(1997) was used to assess roleacceptance ability. A pretest was conducted for assessing the experiment groups’ homogeneity anda posttest was conducted after treatment. The collected data was analyzed by ANCOVA in orderto find the differences between the experimental and the comparative groups. In conclusion, the CMEA was found to be effective to improve young children’s pro-socialbehavior and role acceptance ability. This result demonstrates that implementing the CMEA inkindergarten classrooms is effective as it helps young children to improve their pro-social behaviorand role acceptance ability.
