Clothing, food, and shelter are basic elements of human life and also they can be a measure of the culture level of a country. At this point, regarding the recent changes of the market situation throughout the world, it is time to start the globalization of Korean food. Now the restaurant industry in Korea has gained about 60 trillion won in economic growth. Moreover the ambitious plan to introduce Korean food to the world has been proceeding in earnest by some organizations supported by the Korean government. Compared to other countries, however, there has been a lack of marketing success so far. The food of Korea has been a cultural product that represents the country. Korean food is a cultural product that represents Korea in the promotion of it’s food around the world. Food photography is used in order to promote Korean food which shows Korean culture and can be used as a part of an advertisement using photographs. Although the food photograph is a part of advertisements, no research has been done in this field. In other fields related to Korean food research has been proceeding in styling and is formative of Korean food to make it famous all over the world. In this study, for the systematic research of food photography with a Korean food theme, I examined and analyzed how the expression of Korean food in the photographs of food magazines and advertisements can be a cornerstone for the globalization of Korean food. The various research results of the food photography genre for other researchers can be the globalization of Korean food. As it’s popularity grows, it can be seen in food magazine advertisements which have been published recently.
