This paper presents a new matching scheme for creating a single panoramic image from a sequence of partially overlapping images of the
same object or scene. This matching scheme is based directly on the searching algorithm, using a multiscale approach to the Hooke-Jeeves algorithm. Matching scheme evaluation was performed using simulated pattern images. The proposed matching scheme reveals good results and could be effectively applied to real ultrasound applications.
