Background: The purpose of this study was to find out whether Cognitive-Perceptual Assessment for Driving(CPAD) can evaluate cognition and perception of brain injured patients for driving. Methods: Twenty-eight braindamaged subjects were evaluated with Motor Free Visual Perception Test(MVPT), Mini-Mental StatusExamination(MMSE). They have had driver’s licence and driving experience. Subjects also were evaluated withCognitive-Perceptual Assessment for Driving(CPAD). CPAD consists of 11 measurement variables of 8 tasks. Weanalyzed the correlation between CPAD and MVPT, MMSE. Results: 1) CPAD total score was well correlatedwith MVPT score, MMSE score(p<0.05). 2) 8 standardized values of CPAD were correlated with MVPT score. 3)5 standardized values of CPAD were correlated with MMSE score. Conclusions: CPAD can be used as evaluationtool of cognition and perception for brain injured patients who want to drive.
