This study identified the effects of storytelling art activities on children’s creativity and its subfactors. The research questions were posed: Do storytelling art activities effect on children’s creativity? A sample of 40 children aged 5 years in a daycare center located in Gangwon Province. An experimental group and a control group were respectively made up of 20 children. The experimental group engaged in storytelling art activities for 12 sessions from August 24 to October 5, 2015, and the control group engaged in routine expression-centered art activities during the same period. The results of the study are as follow. first, the storytelling art activities had a positive impact on the improvement of creativity. There was significant difference between the experimental and control group in creativity scores after the storytelling art activities were conducted. Second, the storytelling art activities had a positive influence on the improvement of the creativity subfactors that were sensitivity, originality, fluency, and flexibility. There was significant difference between the experimental and control groups in sensitivity, originality, fluency, and flexibility. Finally, the storytelling art activities proved to have positive effects on the improvement of children's creativity; sensitivity, originality, fluency, and flexibility. Therefore storytelling art activities are expected to be widely conducted in early childhood education to boost the creativity.
