On September 2010, diplomatic conflict between China and Japan occurred by collision between Chinese fishing boat and Japanese Coast Guard Patrol boat nearby Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands. At that time, Chinese and Japanese government took strong actions each other, as a result, Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations rapidly deteriorated.
The diplomatic disputes over the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands are continuing between China and Japan, in addition, things are going from bad to worse. This article argue that these situations caused by the China’s Rising and change of balance of power in Northeast Asia.
In this reason, Japan took strong actions toward China for the Diaoyu/Senkaku dispute, as a result, the root of this problem turn into rivalry of power, which is not only about territorial dispute between China and Japan.
