There were migrated women who entered Korea from the end of 1990 to early 2000 when the marriage migration just started. They were the naturalized and settled in Korean society with marriage for over 10 years and belong to the 1st generation of marriage migration in Korea. The reason why this study pays attention to the migrated women with marriage who settled in Korea early is that they can give more diverse and richer migration experience than recent settlers. This study is a discussion on background of migration originated from their homeland and their way of settlement in Korean society through the migration experience in the life context of the Filipino women who migrated with marriage in the initial stage and settled in Gyeongsan city, Gyeongbuk. Chapter 2 of this thesis discussed the status of marriage migration of the Philippines, the migration country and recognized the trend of international marriage in Korea society. Chapter 3 discussed the family background of the Philippine in their homeland, job experience of their family including the woman herself, and marriage mediation type in details. Chapter 4 discussed the ‘Contexts of Reception’ of Korean family who faced the migrated Filipino woman at the time of migration. Residence regulation including the family relationship at the time of entrance into Korea, that is, experience of being marginalized as the member of family who was transferred with practice strategy of paternal family, and experience of being marginalized according to economic position of Korean family were explained. Chapter 5 explained the process of recontextualizing the ‘Contexts of Reception’ of Korean family who faced them in their own way. Their experiences of organizing couple-focused independent family in 10 years from that time and their way of recovering economic position by utilizing social or cultural resources were also identified.
