This study was analyzed the process of nation formation in Indonesia. I studied main agents and influences, and various problems in this process. The nation movement was started each regions in the of Indonesia from the 19th, this movement was connected the reinforcement of nation consciousness. But it was entered beginning of the 20th, nation movement was started in earnest. Through this process, the concept of Indonesian nation consciousness was formated and it was started to occur the consciousness of one community.
In the process of independence from Dutch colonial government, although there was many conflicts among various religious and political parties, Indonesia was achieved Independence with Sucarno as the central figure. Pancasila, the ideology of nation foundation in Indonesia, was based on the national integration. But there were some problems internally and foreignly in Indonesia, for instance, nation conflicts, poverty problems, territorial disputes and so on. Indonesia has to resolve these problems in the future.
