This study aims to investigate the effect on the satisfaction level of the participant motives in hair-design skills competition and service quality. To achieve this objectives, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting the participants in the skills competition since 2000. The findings obtained as a result of the study are as follows. First, with respect to participant motives for the participation in the skills competition, two factors were extracted. Push factor includes the emotional motives relating to the participant's psychology, and Pull factor includes the rational motives of the skills competition itself. With respect to the service quality in the skills competition, the three factors; environmental quality, interacting quality, and resulting quality, were extracted. Second, with respect to the differences in the motives for the participation, service quality, and the satisfaction level of participation according to general characteristics, there was a significant difference according to the experience of the participation and career. Third, With respect to the evaluation of service quality according to the motives for the participation, the evaluation of the service quality had a positive(+) correlation. Fourth, with respect to the evaluation of the service quality according to the motives for the participation, only Pull factor had a significant positive(+) effect. Fifth, the interacting quality and the resulting quality had a significant positive(+) effect on the satisfaction level of the participation. As a result, the motives arising from an individual's belief are the high-factor for the evaluation of the satisfaction level of the participation. Thus, the continued efforts to make the fact that the participants enhance the vocational value and self-respect through skills competition recognized and make all the patients trust the objective evaluation and the method of operation, are needed.
