The 18th century was the very transitional period when Western Europe underwent modernization. The seemingly endless pursuit of extravagant and luxury hair styles well represent such tendencies of the century. Such transitional aspect of the century and changes in costumes gave rise to highly unique hair styles and went through various changes. This paper arranged the hair styles by country and period and analyzed the correlation of styles and by country with focus on the illustration in order to help to understand history of Rococo hair styles in the 18th century and to effectively apply the design ideas for formative hair styles. In accordance with the analysis, Rococo hair style was bigger than other periods, but big formative hair styles were popular only in France and England. Base on the analysis results on the correlation by country, the most similar styles were found in France and England. Other countries in Western Europe showed slightly different styles. The Rococo hair styles in the 18th century also varied on the politics, public emotion and relationship among countries and had the in-depth relationship with economic and cultural level due to the industrial development.
