Mimetic theories were set to be a kind of art work in the era of Renaissance, and the terminology of mimesis was widely used to replace it with an originality in the 20th century. Mimesis concept was changed to abstract in the modern art and plastic arts. The purpose of this study is to understand the aesthetics of abstraction mimesis expressed in modern hair Design. For this purpose, I investigated the theories of the mimesis, categorized the definition, then applied those categories for modern hair Design. Documentary studies were conducted through aesthetics, beauty and hair books and demonstrative studies were processed by analyzing photos from collection beauty magazines and beauty and fashion site of internet. In the history of aesthetics, the abstraction mimesis could be defined into three categories : simplification of geometric, distortion & deformation, disparate material. In modern hair style, simplification of geometric included a figure of hair style. Distortion & deformation included blow up the huge shape of hair. And also hair style was changed to transposition from disparate materials.
