Ali Mahmud Taha was considered as a best poet of Apollo Group because of his vivid expressing the sensitive and lyrical matters throughout the melodious forms. So he was placed in the high value on the two parts. First, his poetry provided one of the greatest outlets for the emotionally and sexually suppressed young persons in Egypt and Arab world early in the 20th century. Second, he was loved by almost all of Arabs because of combining traditional melodious forms with modern romantic contents. So, to examine his poetic spirit synthetically I analyzed the subjects and forms in most parts of his works focusing on the neoclassic and romantic trends. The result of my analysis shows as follows. In the contents the romantic trend(74%)is superior to the neoclassic trend(26%). On the contrary, in the forms the romantic trend(32%) is inferior to the neoclassic trend(68%). In conclusion, Ali Mahmud Taha, like the most critics commented, could be told as the poet that sang the diverse and subjective feelings and emotions around his surroundings by the melodious classic forms. From the historical angle of the Arabic poetry, Ali Mahmud Taha, like the poets of Apollo Group, could be told that he stays on the border line toward the romanticism from the neoclassicism.
