The purpose of this study was to analyze language learning strategies used by Vietnamese women immigrants in Korea. In order to analyze learning strategies, a questionnaire was administered to 109 Vietnamese women immigrants at the Multi-cultural Family Support Centers. The instrument used was the SILL(Strategies Inventory of Language Learning) questionnaire by Oxford(1990). SPSS 18 was used to perform descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA. Post-hoc comparison was done in the presence of a significant difference. Based on the results of research, the following conclusions could be drawn. First, Vietnamese women immigrants most use meta-cognitive strategy and social strategy actively on their own by determining, solving and evaluating their problems in learning Korean. Second, differences are seen in the use of language learning strategies according to the learner's residence period and academic background. Thus, these individually different variables need to be considered in teaching and learning Korean. Finally, guidance is needed for women immigrants to learn the language learning strategies in order to let themselves to review their learning process and help them to plan, monitor, control and evaluate their cognitive processing.
