｢Early morning fog(曉霧)｣ was started on May 1, 1921 and lasted until on May 30 in the same year at 󰡔Jo-Seon newspaper(조선일보)󰡕. Hyun, Jin-geon(현진건) entered 󰡔Jo-Seon newspaper󰡕 around November 1921. Hyun, Jin-geon published serially Turgenev's novels of his own motive. After that he published serially his creating ｢Early morning fog｣ for about a month. The novel had defects in method of description and probability. The defects were attributable to Hyun, Jin-geon's ability of author. And They were attributable to the circumstances of 󰡔Jo-Seon newspaper󰡕 in those days. At that time 󰡔Jo-Seon newspaper󰡕 hoped to disposal of his company. ｢The spend Fog(지새는안개)｣ was started on February, 1923 and lasted until on October in the same year at 󰡔The dawn of civilization(개벽)󰡕. Hyun, Jin-geon started his literary activity at 󰡔The dawn of civilization󰡕. ｢The spend Fog｣ established the stable point of description unlike ｢Early morning fog｣. The section of Chi-Gook(치국) and 󰡔Ban-do newspaper(반도일보)󰡕 was involved in the change of 󰡔The dawn of civilization(개벽)󰡕. But The section of Chi-Gook and 󰡔Ban-do newspaper󰡕 brought about the crack in novel. ｢The spend Fog｣ published in book form on 1925. Hwa-Ra, Jeong-Ae, and Chi-Gook reappeared in the latter part of ｢The spend Fog｣. Hwa-Ra and Jeong-Ae resurfaced their voluptuous figures. In those days, ｢The spend Fog｣ was one of the best-sellers. The efforts to attract fans also brought about the crack in novel. Hyun, Jin-geon already had published two books in book form. To publish ｢The spend Fog｣ in book form was involved in the economic conditions.
