This paper begins from the concern about the overflowing violence found in our daily lives. Rene Girard, through the concepts of 'Imitative desire' and 'Scapegoat mechanism', discovered the true nature of violence revealed in various ways both individually and collectively. By contrasting the world of mythology and that of the Christian bible that have seeming similarities, Girard explains the fundamental difference between them; in the realm of mythology, the process of releasing violence through having an innocent scapegoat is deliberately hidden. On the other hand, in the bible, it is clearly shown that the method of releasing collective violence through scapegoat mechanism is not only morally wrong but is itself a deceit. This paper aims to explain the root of the basic and fundamental mechanism of violence through reflecting our internal world based on Girard's theories and interpretations. In addition, the paper attempts to suggest a way to escape from the strong waves of violence, which can be done through the effort to resemble the character of Jesus. Jesus, by stopping the violent crowd and saving a victimized woman from that surging violence, opened up a possibility to stop the destructive force of desire, which is imitative in its essence.
