This thesis intends to redefine the magazine U-rin-i, So-nyeon-hoi, and <Saekdong-hoi> in which focuses on the formation of the ‘juvenile literary circles’. Foundation of U-rin-i prepared important essential elements of korean modern juvenile literary circles: media to publish, authors and readers. And then it was continued in stable form. In the formative period of modern juvenile literature, U-rin-i indicated the specified genre custom and the ‘image of children’ through adaptations, creations, and prize systems of writing and the nursery song. It acted as a kind of system which presented the thought of modern juvenile literature and it was practiced readers. ‘So-nyeon-hoi’ was very important organization which secured children who were the subject of creations and enjoyment of juvenile literature, and it was special space for children. Especially, ‘Boys of Letters’ who was readers and preparatory writers of juvenile literature, showed specificity of korean modern juvenile literature. <Saekdong-hoi> which was professional writer’s group, pioneered in subordinate genre of juvenile literature with U-rin-i as their stage. Also they took charge a role to select and bring up new writers of juvenile literature through the prize. Juvenile literary circles’s disruption were deepened after the late 1920s. The division made it deepened, and it was continued on formation of literary system. So it is very important to observe korean juvenile literary circles in 1920s, because it also watch the origin and the peculiarity of korean present-day juvenile literary circles.
