The present study purposed to analyze the theme units of women’s life observed in children’s literature focused on their narrative patterns and meanings. Thus, the main objective of this paper is theoretic study of feministic themes appearing in children’s literature. Feministic theme units in children’s literature form the thematic patterns of repetition and cycle. The repetition and cyclicity of feministic theme units function as a common denominator of narratology and thematics. Accordingly, we explained the nature of feministic narration through the thematic characteristics of children’s literature, and systematized children’s literature as a separate genre. In order to analyze feministic characteristics in children’s literature using thematic methods, we selected five feministic theme units. Feministic characteristics are found as thematic units such as women’s wisdom, liberty, writing, fantasy and love. In contemporary children’s literature, women are wise enough to correct contradictions in the men‐oriented world, and liberal enough to overcome prejudices in the traditional view of women. The letter style, which is womanish writing, has been settled as a new literary style in children’s literature and the unique value of femininity are emphasized as much as feminine beauty and fantasy are popularized. Women’s love stories are also intensifying the illuminating attitude. The five feministic theme units in children’s literature have overturned the traditional narrative structure of children’s literature, expanding the unique world of children’s literature and establishing new value systems. Based on the results of this study, we need to develop and create various feministic themes in children’s literature.
