This paper is an essay of researching thought relation between some Confucian scholars such as Joken Nisikawa(西川如見), a Japanese thinker outside government of the middle of 17th century, and confucian scholars of the end of Ming era. Many scholars analyze the formation of “foreign countries(外国)” concept and recognition of Asia. Some scholars consider him as Japanese classical thinker of the 19th century. Others state that the Western knowledge had more effects on Nishikawa’s recognition about the world than the Chinese knowledge. In this research, I will investigate “Choninbukuro (町人嚢)”, “Suidokaiben（水土解弁）”, and “Nihonsuidoko(日本水土考)”, written by Nishikawa. I also consider the inversion of the thought “ri(理)” in the end of Ming era. Moreover, studying the “Chinese and barbarian(華夷)” idea which was inherent in Nishikawa’s thought, I’ll bring out ideological space which was connected with the recognition about the world of “ki(気)” in 17th century
