The purpose of this article is to describe the argument structures of uchit'(sja). This is done within the framework of Construction Grammars and Semantic Frame. The ultimate goal of the study is to explicate the meanings of several constructions with the verb uchit', including those using uchit'sja. The study also aims to demonstrate linking relations between constructions. The study identifies the construction types and the lexical meanings of the verb uchit'(sja). In the Ditransitive construction, it is used to mean 'to teach.' The REC argument appears in an accusative case form, and the THEME argument appears in a dative case. In the Transitive construction, uchit' means 'to learn' and has two arguments – AGT and THEME. By using the Corpus analysis, the article lays out the meaning of the verb in its different constructions, comparing the verb prepodavat' and izuchat'. Subsequently, I analyze the verb uchit'sja in two types of constructions: Noncausative and Intransitive. I propose construction structures that the verb uchit'sja, in its noncausative meaning, has two arguments: REC in a nominative case and THEME in oblique cases. I further propose that in the Intransitive it has one argument. The uchit'sja in the Non-causative results from eliminating the feature of cause, adding the suffix -sja to the verb uchit'. In contrast, in the Intransitive the feature of transitivity is eliminated. Finally I demonstrate in the article how the constructions are linked and semantically related to each other.
