The purpose of this study is to understand aspects of learners’ emotion-experience when one appreciates a classical poem. A method of measurement is a criticism about a learner’s emotions, which is composed by two activities. One is to catch a learner’s self emotions during appreciating a classical poem and express it by a emotional word. The other is to analyze and explain causes and grounds of mentioned emotions. During appreciating a classical poem, a learner’ might go through various emotions caused by a classical poem, a one’s view of the world, a one’s experience and a process of appreciation a classical poem. Aspects of learners’ emotions-experience is divided into two categories as a separate or mutual response between emotions in a classical poem and learner’s emotions. The former is uncertain understanding about emotions and simple understanding about emotions including emotional contagion. The latter is empathy including self oriented perspective-taking and other oriented perspective-taking.
