This article is intended to examine the Biblical resources and Christian- biblical imagination in D.H. Lawrence’s literature and their esthetic function. Objective writings for the study are novels, plays, and essays. They are Sons and Lovers, a novel in the early childhood, adolescent period of Lawrence, The Rainbow, Women in Love, Aaron’s Rod, Kangaroo, which are novels in the mid-period of Lawrence’s life, The Plumed Serpent, The Man Who Died, which are novels in the later period of Lawrence’s life, David, a play in Lawrence’s later life dealing with a story of David’s growth before he becomes King of Israel in the Old Testament, and Noah’s Flood, an unfinished fragmental play dealing with a story about Noah and his sons, God’s judgement, and salvation in the sinful world of Old Testament. In addition, things to be reviewed are literary, and religious influences on Lawrence by Bible through biographical essays and how traces from such biblical influences are reflected and represented in his novels, in terms of literary strategy, technique, and poetic, dramatic devices which are based on esthetical dimensions. Those reviews involve analysis of images, symbols, parallelism, dramatization, etc. Lawrence's Christian-biblical peculiarities and creative religious power are analysed as well.
