This paper examines the European feminist philosopher, Rosi Braidotti’s nomadic feminist subjectivity and explores the possibility of making Feminist Studies in English Literature a community for feminist discourse in Asia, following Braidotti's nomadic feminist subjectivity. For Braidotti, the nomad does not stand for homelessness nor compulsive displacement, but rather for a kind of subject who has relinquished all idea, desire, or nostalgia for fixity. She argues that the nomad is a form of political resistance to hegemonic and exclusionary views of subjectivity. Braidotti sees feminism as the activity aimed at articulating the questions of individual, embodied, gendered identity with issues related to political subjectivity. She also argues that feminists must remember to engage both with conscious political choices and unconscious desires, and develop appropriate strategies to deal with each. Her notion of subjectivity on an individual level hinges on contingency and change, positionality rather than fixity. Thus, in this paper, I would like to extend Braidotti's notion of the nomadic feminist subjectivity from an individual level to an institutional level, and to form a community for feminist discourse in Asia through FSEL, in order to create the new symbolic “Woman” with Asian values and Asian subjective representation in the contemporary globalized frame
