This paper aims to define the position of two coordinate elements in Thai Pallell Words : what elements locate in front, what elements locate in rear, and why, when the words combined coordinately are parallel relation.
Parallel Words (Coordinate Word) are the process of forming a new word by doubling a morpheme. In Chapter 2 and 3, I examine the order of constituents in Thai reduplication can be explained in terms of a couple of simply defined constraints. I classify the type of reduplication and show various examples. It is shown how the semantic constraints can be applied to explain the order of constituents in reduplication. For this study, the study compare with Korean Parallel words examples.
In the 2nd chapter, I arrange the examples of the combination of meaningfully coordinate parallel words in the sociocultural aspect.
In the 3rd chapter, I arrange the examples of the combination of meaningfully coordinate parallel words in the psychological aspect.
