The aim of this research was to investigate the types of news frame presented in two Korean newspapers (the Dong-a Ilbo and the Hankyoreh) on Syrian uprising. The analysis of news coverage on 'Syrian uprising' indicates that the news reported in both two newspapers were frequently presented in the style of fact and event centered straight news reporting type. Compared to the fact and event centered straight news reporting type, in-depth news reporting articles by Middle East experts such as editorial or column were found relatively low proportions in both newspapers. High proportions of columns written by Western experts could provide readers with the Western point of views only. The Western news sources such as American, British and French were highly cited for Syrian uprising news reporting and they did not provide with Syrian viewpoints or other Arab neighboring countries'. The tone of the articles in both newspapers were mainly negative and the victim frame in news reporting were relatively high than the problem solving frame or the cause analyzing frame. The results of the study found that the news articles reported in the two Korean newspapers were not objective on Syrian uprising and the Arab and Middle Eastern issues.
