It is commonly belief that the origin of Mongolia was associated with‘Xiongnu’ in the studies on the origin of Mongolia. This origin stemmedfrom Sa Ma-Chion’s <Shiji> and <Xiongnu liezhuan>, which refer to thenorthern area of Earlier Han by ‘Xiongu’ in the vague manner, and thesesay that xiongu became extinct and scattered and became Mongolia tribe. But this commonly held view has some problems. Above all, there aremany tribes in Mongolia. They have many different religions and differentcustoms and manners internally. Then, it cannot be seen that theyoriginated from the same ethnicity. In this respect, I would like to revealthe “pure” origin of Mongol tribe in this paper. According to this study, the origin of Mongol tribe was formed as apolitical association around the 12th century A.D. This politicalempowerment was done by Jingiz Kahn and was well-known by him. Ofcourse, before this political empowerment, people already lived there asthey maintained some groups. In that period, however, no groups couldbecome a strong group and be a threatening power anywhere because ofthe characteristic of Mongolia. It was not until the period of Jingiz Khanthat they were known as political association. It can be seen that the origin of Mongolia is highly related with Khitantribe, in particular, in that they had similar customs and manner andclothes and they performed ancestor rites in common. And it is surprisingthat Xiongnu worshipped Jumong who was the first king of Goguryeo, almost the divine existence of Goguryeo history as everyone knows. Obviously, there are some historical reasons why Mongolia tribeworshipped Jumong. Among them, I propose a hypothesis that thedescendants of Goguryeo migrated into somewhere after Goguryeocollapsed. This hypothesis could also be supported by a lot of evidences putforward by recent studies. These studies show that it is likely that theorigin of Buryatia was not Siberia, but the east part of Great Khingan. Thisview suggests a lot to us. In this regard, I confirmed that the record whichshows that the origin of Khori-Buryatia might be in the whole region of FuXin, Liaoning Province in China. This could help to deal with the problem of the origin of Mongol tribewhich has not been solved in the meantime. Overall, it could be assumedthat the origin of Mongol tribe probably formed as Khitan people movedfrom the northwest of Manchuria to the north part.
