This study explored early childhood teachers’ understanding of core competencies through network analysis. Data were collected from 194 early childhood teachers who were working at 10 kindergartens and 10 day-care centers located in cities A, B, and C. Data were frequency analyzed using the UCINET6 program. Results indicated that the concepts of patience, love, personality, and positive character were mentioned most frequently by both kindergarten teachers and day-care teachers. Macro-network analyzed results showed that both kindergarten and day-care teachers’ networks were of low density and had narrow connections between concepts. However, micro-network analysis revealed differences in centralities between kindergarten and day-care teachers. These findings have particular implications for early childhood teacher education programs.
