The industrial structure has been changing from manufacturing industry to the service industry in advanced countries. For design, we think that it should be changed from supply side to consumer side, and that it has to be suggested as service design for meeting form and function in consumer’s point of view. Thus, it can be said that a curriculum is needed to be supplemented and improved for changing grounding in design at a university, considering connections with one’s major. In the actual reality of education, it may be difficult to apply user’s experiential value to design. Therefore, we need the process center design education for creating ‘value’, which can meet user request while we repeat a process of thinking in the problem area and the solution area, creating idea and collecting. This article used the products - service convergence methodology for applying user behavior, his experience and its value to products, and drew naturally a design sketch by step. We selected 40 freshmen students, majoring in industrial Design for case study. The class in sketch was done for 15 weeks for them. A robot cleaner and a portable tongs were the result of study. As the result, the students were trained to design that can sympathize user’s request while understanding users in a process of design. The students were able to solve creatively a problem through process-based instruction, so that they have broadened their convergent and divergent thinking during the course of drawing information, idea and a final solution. We expect that such education will raise achievement in learning linked with a curriculum subject such as design project; the products - service convergence methodology. We try to make the foundation of educational model related with a creative design that is possible to apply to freshmen students based on advanced researches.
