In this study, we are looking at a new understanding of the work "Nokimorutsuki" from the perspective of "Hitozuma" and how the author tried "Hitozuma-monogatari" in his work.
The literary basis for Ichiyo was Japanese poetry and its poetry composed on a set theme. In fact, Ichiyo left behind a Japanese poetry called "Hitozuma," similar to the traditional Japanese poetry. In other words, he sang about a woman with a spouse, or about a dangerous love life that shook his heart to a man with a spouse.
Ichiyo expressed these Japanese poetry"s "Hitozuma" in another genre called fiction. Especially, during the miracle 14 months, i.e., the second half literary period, we can estimate that the idea of making hitozuma as the protagonist in writing the novel was not from the idea of “hitozuma”, the subject for Japanese poem in creating novel. And for the first time among Ichiyo"s works, "Hitozuma" appears is "Yukinohi," while the second is "Nokimorutsuki."
Within a limited time in "Nokimorutsuki," the story was unfolded under the structure of a speaker who employed the first and third person names. In doing so, a woman with a spouse creates a sense of shaking psychology and a sense of urgency about the situation against another man, drawing a climax effect and focusing on the novel from the reader. This was not just the monotonous tension expressed in Japanese poetry"s "Hitozuma," but also the sensual and detailed emotion that can be expressed in the genre of fiction.
In conclusion, although Ichiro was inspired by the traditional Japanese poetry world, it is an aspect of her literary character that tried to draw a new modern novel from Ichiyo in the novel world.
This paper is that "Nokimorutsuki" is the first attempt from the perspective of "Hitozuma." Future research is also looking at all the works in the "Hitozuma-monogatari" category.
