Regardless of all ages and countries, the weather has a great impact on people, especially Hong Kong was a fishing village where fishing was the main focus of the past, so the weather was more important to them.
Hong Kong is divided into four seasons like Korea, but summer is almost half a year in terms of a sensory temperature. Because of the sub-tropical climate, especially during the summer, the hot-tempered heat afflicts people. It is hot in Hong Kong, but when the cold air comes in from Siberia and Mongolia in winter, or when the cold front passes, a severe cold may come.
When Hong Kong was a British colony, the British Hong Kong government accepted the opinion of the British Royal Society and established a Meteorological Observatory in 1883. This is because Hong Kong was considered to be a meteorological study area, mainly due to the typhoon hit area. Hong Kong was also attacked every year by large and small typhoons, which caused many facilities to be destroyed and causing a lot of social losses. To prevent this, the Meteorological Observatory has been established in Hong Kong and it has been maintained until now.
