The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of drape, glossy/matt of fabrics on color and texture impression evaluation under the white and the chromatic light source.
In the first experiment, we investigated the influence of drape, glossy/matt texture of the fabrics under the white, the red, and the blue illumination. The texture impression of the fabric was shown not affected by the drape but influenced by whether a highlight part of the fabric was present or not.
The second experiment was carried out to examine the influence of illuminance of the light source on the color/texture impression of the fabric. It was clarified that a color and texture impression decreased with decrease of illuminance. A color and texture impression of the fabric under the chromatic light was also evaluated. The results showed that a color/texture impression was corresponded to luminance of the fabric surface under the chromatic light.
