Most countries are responding to global climate change to cope with environmental legislation and technology. In trade, policy for climate change concern and legislation are being used as new Technical Barriers to Trade as well as new technology standards are responding to climate change. The Shipping Industry which has attracted attention in this study has an inseparable relation with the development of trade today. And it has a direct relation to the changes in the trade environment against global warming.
In the case of ships operating on international voyages from 2020, it is necessary to keep the fuel sulfur content below 0.5%. Most of the vessels currently operating are equipped with Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems, which is the most realistic alternative. Therefore, this study confirmed the trade competitiveness of the scrubber, which is the equipment dealing with climate change of ships engaged in international shipping being exposed to the rapid change of international trade due to climate change.
As a result of the review, Revealed Comparative Advantage index is showing as the bilateral system of China and Finland . The Finland is the world leader in Trade Specialization Index. Scrubber is strongly related to the development of the shipbuilding industry. Scrubber equipment, which is a type of ship equipment used as one of the factors that make up the competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry. Therefore, as the demand for eco-friendly ships increases, the competitiveness of the products will be secured.
