Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the importance and satisfaction of a water sports event perceived by international athletes.
Method: For the study, data were collected from 160 of international athletes of the 5th Ara Water way International Water Sport Event by using the convenience sampling method. After excluding 45 cases of incomplete questionnaires, 115 were used for data analysis. Descriptive analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability analysis and paired t-test analysis were conducted using SPSS 21.0 version. Lastly, the mean and standard deviation of importance and satisfaction were analyzed using IPA matrix.
Results: The results of this study are follows. 1) First, significant differences between the level of satisfaction and the level of importance were found for part of the attractions for each group. 2) Second, Operational Services and A suitable stadium factors were included with Ⅰ quadrant and Ⅱ quadrant. And Experience activities, Efficient progress, and Traffic environment factors were included in Ⅲ quadrant and Ⅳ quadrant.
Conclusion: Sports event administrators should focus more on the internal elements of the competition than others.
