Even though voyeurism was one of taboos in traditional paintings before the 20th century, it has appeared as a nude form whose motifs came from myths, legends or the Bible. In order to study what voyeurism looks like in modern paintings and to see how fashion appears in those paintings, two active artists, Horyon Lee and Karen Ann Myers, were selected to be compared. About 80 works of Lee and 64 works of Myers were selected for analysis. Most of their works have the common characteristic of photo-like reality. Regarding the differences between them, Lee draws the viewer’s gaze by blurring or overlapping images, but Myers disperses the viewer’s gaze by expressing brilliant colors and patterns. Lee expresses the colliding moment of voyeurism and exhibitionism. However, Myers places more emphasis on psychological complexity of women. Lee uses fashion as a tool to stimulate the voyeur’s desire to see, but Myers as a tool to express the model’s psychology and sexual desire.
