This paper is to analyze the status of the departments concerning leisure/recreation at college, find out the problems, and give a right direction to run the departments concerning leisure/recreation. First, 111 colleges have the departments concerning leisure/recreation, which is 66% of the total colleges in Korea. 317 departments from the colleges are opened with 48,632 students. 224 departments with 19,210 students are in the daytime while 93 departments with 5,196 in the nighttime. Sightseeing departments are 238 with 38,114 students which is 75% of the total, sports departments are 69 with 9,478 students that is 19% of the total. Leisure/recreation departments are 5 with 560 students which is 2&, while culture/art departments are 5 ones with 480 students that is l%. Thirdly, There are 79 departments concerning sightseeing translation with 11,872 students that is 30% of the sightseeing departments, while 50 departments with 8,006 students regarding hotel that is 21% of those. On the contrary, 66 departments regarding physical exercise with 8,918 students are 94% of sports part. Fourthly, the first leading ranking of the departments is 48 sightseeing with 9,566 students, the second one is 32 physical exercise with 4,540 students, and the third ranking is 29 sightseeing English department with 3,828. There are 46 sorts of departments name, and 224 departments with 48,632 students.
