This study is concerned with the quantitative analysis of imageability and preferences of visual recreation resources with a special reference to Puyo-Koransa. Specifically, it attempts to investigate spatial imageability structure of Koransa as a outdoor recreation resources by adopting Semantic Differential rating scale and factor analysis algorithm. The results of this study would provide a guideline for evaluating visual preference of outdoor recreation resources and a background for visual resource management. Regarding research, method, SD scale was measured and factor analysis was followed. Rotated varimax method was adopted to identify determinant factors. Various SD scale composed of history, architectural distinctions, uniqueness, and surroundings showed remarkably high value for Koransa. Major factors affected visual satisfaction were scale of temple, affluent dignity, and continuity space system. Throughout this study, the following recommendations can be made : First, for the evaluation of outdoor recreation resources, quantitative approach should be given a higher priority in outdoor recreation resources development. Second, developing forecast models for analyzing visual recreation sources require a thorough review of quantitative methods including Semantic Differential scale factor analysis, and etc. Lastly, quantitative technique can be strategically utilized in the process of formulation the outdoor recreation development planning and policy.
