Recently, a modular demonstration complex with total 30 households was supplied in Gayang-dong as a result of the modular demonstration project through the national R&D (December 2017). This is very meaningful since we now have the first apartment housing constructed that passes the criteria of the Housing Act first time in Korea since modular construction method was introduced to Korea for the first time in the early 2000. Through the demonstration project, we are now able to have the standards that have been proven and validated in economic feasibility, constructability and technical feasibility and in which we can find plans to improve them in the future. The biggest advantage and characteristic of modular construction method is that it saves construction costs due to the reduction of construction period and prevents the occurrence of noise and dust, thereby solving the civil complaint problems at the source. Therefore, in this study, we would like to propose basic data to maximize construction period reduction in the future through the comparison with the current apartment houses and application of the construction method to investigate the causes for delays in construction period and possibility of construction period reduction through the construction period and process analysis on the Gayang Demonstration Complex.
