It was carried out to investigate the structural behavior for the blast furnace and its tower structure under an aseismatic condition. As all of the blast furnaces were designed and constructed before the aseismatic specification was estabilished in Korean structural design code, those are necessary to analyze the precise aseismatic verification. There are the main contents of the results using the response spectrum from six earthquake records, three smoothed design response spectrums, and a new aseismatic response spectrum considered the dynamic characteristic of structure concerned with the blast furnace facility in this paper. The mathematical model was idealized 2-dimensional multi-degree of freedom (MDOF) with the equivalent stiffness, and to ensure 90 percent and up of accumulated rate of modal participation factor in consideration of accuracy of the analysis, the eigenvalue analysis was performed till 10th mode. The dynamic/aseismatic analysis was analyzed by means of the response spectrum analysis method, compared with the response spectrums referred to the above and the equivalent static analysis in accordance with Korean structural design code, and also compared with the result under a wind load condition.
