Report Errors
This study was conducted to develop and validate the preference scale for daily routine in early childhood education institutes. Totally 1,195 preschoolers and 154 teachers from 23 institutes in 9regions participated. According to the results, the scale showed appropriate reliability, validity, and item quality. It has 30 items of 4 factors, i.e. individual/group by quiet/dynamic activities. Teachers reported that individual dynamic activities were more relevant for younger children. But their perceptions on children’s preference could not reflect reality. Older children reported lower preference for individual activities, and girls preferred quiet activities more than boys. Finally, children enrolled at daycare centers generally showed stronger preference for daily activities than kindergarteners.
