This thesis, with emphasis on the practice of the filial piety of young children to their parents which is gradually vanishing from modern society, is written based on the survey and research through the children under 5 years old who are attending the 10 different Day-care Center in Taejeon city. This study focus on how much they practice the filial piety to their parents at home, as well as the study on the contents and concepts of the filial piety from the traditional books on ancients filial piety such as "Lessons and Practice for Children's Filial Piety", "Removing Ignorance and Teaching Wisdom", and "Principles of Customs and Practice".The results of this study tells that there is almost no difference in practicing of filial piety between male children and female children, children with brothers or sisters, and only child. Both groups are good at practicing the table etiquette with slight difference in practicing of greetings between two groups: the only child was better than the child with brothers or sisters. In terms of obedience, male children were better than the female children. In conclusion, the further study and education on the proper concepts and ways of practicing filial piety in modern society should be conducted by the professionals of university of other related institutions. The teaching and training on the practice of filial piety by their parents should be carried out at home, as well as at Day-care Center teachers.
