The major purpose of this study is to identify the reasons and motives to determine will to work of the resort employees in hospitality industry with high turnover rate in Jeju Island region focused on Self-Leadership theory and to present the systematic form of organization and the method to improve business efficiency through the empirical identification of their influence over job satisfaction and dedication to organization. This study considered theoretical background about self-leadership and will to work and performed empirical survey by the questionnaire designed for resort employee in Jeju Island region. The questionnaire was distributed to the study subjects composed of 50 employees of 5 resorts in the region, and 228 responses returned were used for final analysis. For the data analysis of this study, SPSS 12.0 for Windows, a statistical program, was used to perform demographic frequency and factor analysis and confidence measurement, and a regression analysis was applied to test hypotheses for study. In this research, we analyze the correlationship between work motivation and job performance by measuring the self-leadership of employees working at the resort in Jeju island. On the basis of empirical data set, our research shows three implicative facts. First of all, self-leadership of employees in hospitality industry is statistical significant on work motivation Secondly, work motivation has an effect on job performance. Finally, self-leadership deeply affects the job performance. In the research, we investigate that self-leadership of employees at resort are closely connected to the improvement of work motivation and job performance.
